Working as a Care Assistant in a Residential Nursing Home for older people with Dementia is an essential and valued role. Based in Hammersmith, you'll be attending to and be responsible for the personal care needs of residents. The incredible care team create a supportive and homely atmosphere in which the residents can achieve their maximum independence, stimulation and choice.
You'll be a passionate, empathetic and collaborative Care Assistant or Care Worker who is adaptable and flexible in the hours you'll be required to work; this will include weekends and Bank Holidays. Some of your crucial Care responsibilities are below:
? To attend to and assist with the personal, practical, and social/emotional Care of residents and other clients of the Home, enabling them to meet their individual needs.
? To administer medication by following the care plan, medication records and our client's policy and procedure.
? To undertake continual appropriate record-keeping, including completion of personal care records, medication records and care plans.
You'll be joining a committed and collaborative Care team in Hammersmith. Our client encourages and promotes positive teamwork so you'll be expected to work closely with colleagues, other professionals and outside individuals. You will carry this out by being supportive, flexible, reliable, honest and understanding of others' needs and views.
What you'll need to provide:
? NVQ Level 2 in Care, or a willingness to complete it alongside regular NVQ and statutory training where required.
? Basic Food Hygiene course.
? Excellent communication and people skills.
? The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
