Graduate Development Chemist

North Lincolnshire

£20,000-£25,000

Search Scientific are working with a supplier of decorative, protective & intumescent paints & powder coatings based in Lincolnshire. Established for nearly a century, and with a global presence they have experienced a sustained period of growth and success. Due to this, they are investing heavily in, & expanding their UK based R&D facility to continue this trend. As part of this expansion they are recruiting for a graduate development chemist and can offer long term career development and opportunity.

These roles will provide an ideal opportunity for graduate chemist who's looking to begin a career in research and development.

The role:

Working in collaboration, alongside an experienced technical team, this position will be an entry level role that can offer full training on the job and ongoing development prospects. Once trained, the day to day duties of this position will be:

  • New product development, formulating new products from concept.
  • Reformulating existing products for new markets or to improve performance.
  • Assisting with scale up projects taking product formulations from bench to production scale.
  • Assessing and validating raw materials.

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday

Requirements

  • A degree in Chemistry or a similar, relevant field.
  • Previous experience within research and development would be desirable, industrial placement years would be advantageous.
  • A creative mind-set, with the ability to come up with fresh & imaginative ideas or solutions.
  • Collaborative, team orientated with a can-do attitude and a desire to learn.
