Job Title: Graduate Accountant
Salary: £25-28k + study support + benefits
Location: Elland (hybrid working)…. And a 1.30pm Friday finish!

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Graduate or AAT studier, to join a highly reputable, International, high growth business based in Elland.

Working directly with the Management Accountant, and working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, this is a great role for someone wanting to build a career in finance, offering a well rounded, really diverse opportunity, giving you exposure across all of finance, month end responsibility and the opportunity to add value with project work.

The Role

This role is a really diverse and varied role, giving you full exposure across all of finance and would suit someone wanting to gain as much experience as possible and take advantage of every opportunity to learn and take on more responsibility as it presents itself. You'd be working very closely with the Management Accountant, very passionate about personal and professional development so would make sure you're constantly upskilled.

Given the diversity to the role, responsibilities for this role include but certainly aren't limited to:

• Assistance with daily, weekly and monthly accounting reports
• Production of the monthly management accounts and assisting with the month end routine.
• Analysing variances to budget/forecast and adjusting accruals/prepayments as necessary to ensure accurate position is reflected.
• Liaising internally with other departments to ensure budgets and costs are controlled & monitored
• Working with Accounts team to ensure accruals/prepayments are accurate.
• Managing the quarterly budget/forecast process to contribute to the sales forecast process.
• Analysis of performance and profitability with a view to improve forecasting, target setting and cost control.
• Analysing accounts information and running reports to ensure cost effectiveness/profitability and to drive correct decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Other ad-hoc projects as required.

Skills/Experience

• Educated to degree level, in a subject relevant to the role, or currently studying AAT
• The desire to further study ACCA/CIMA (full study support provided)
• A proactive individual willing to take ownership of tasks assigned
• Strong communication skills and comfortable working in a team
• A methodical worker with strong attention to detail
• Ability to use initiative and work to tight reporting deadlines
• IT literate and competent user of MS Excel
