This is not your traditional cleaner job advertisement, and openings like this are scarce - and not for the weak-hearted! The cleaning job comes with a suitably competitive salary.
As a Forensic Cleaner, you will be responsible for cleaning properties with issues ranging from 'hoarding' to severe trauma. On rare occasions, you will be involved in crime scene cleanups, so a strong character and iron stomach are essential for this position. Attention to detail is also vital, as it will be your task to return the properties to a pristine condition.
As a Forensic Cleaning specialist, you will need to have:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role
- Familiarity with COSHH and knowledge of professional cleaning methods
- Previous experience with 'sharps' would be a definite advantage
- Backgrounds as mobile cleaners or other flexible cleaners will be advantageous
- Previous vaccinations for Hepatitis
The cleaning work you will be involved in is physically and mentally challenging, with lots of heavy lifting and manual handling, and lots of stairs to negotiate. Some of the scenarios involved could be considered distressing.
Standard working days are Monday to Friday, but there will be occasional weekend work too. The start times also vary, but a typical working day will be 8 - 10 hours long. Sometimes shorter, very occasionally longer - that's the nature of the job! Full training and PPE is provided.
Some travelling is required for this role, and you may be required to drive company vehicles, so a valid driving licence is a must.
