Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Livingston

Full time - 37.5 hours a week

Reason for the role

My client are looking for a friendly individual to join a robust and growing Finance Department as a Finance Assistant. This role is based in Livingston and would be suited to a confident communicator who is able to build rapport and relationships with ease.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Sales Ledger
  • Sales invoicing
  • Allocating bank receipts to customer accounts and reconciling to outstanding invoices
  • Ensuing timely receipt of payments from customers and chasing when debts become overdue
  • Responding to customer queries - external and internal
  • Raising pro-forma invoices and ensuring prompt receipt of payment
  • Processing refunds to customers and raising credits
  • Producing monthly customer statements
  • Uploading invoices to customer portals
  • Completion of Vendor forms
  • Liaise with company lawyers for any legal proceedings
  • Monitoring Account e-mail inbox and dealing with queries
  • Purchase Order invoice matching
  • Overseeing petty cash and postings
  • Ad hoc administrative assistant to other finance staff


  • Experience in a finance function - Credit control in particular would be beneficial

  • Proficient in Microsoft packages - Word & Excel
