This opportunity for an Estimator is for one of the south-east's leading fit out Sub Contractors and will be based in the Surrey/London area. With a long and successful trading history this company have built a highly credible reputation for delivering electrical & civil engineering projects including operating within the renewable energy market. The company are renowned for delivering contemporary, technical and exciting projects. They have secured work and a strong order book for the next couple of years with a clear vision for the future and further expansion of the business.
They are now looking for an Estimator to be part of their ever-growing team in Surrey. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be an integral part of the company that will drive the company forward and contribute to their future success. You will role will involve seeking to improve competitiveness through innovative thinking and engaging all disciplines into the work winning process, whilst also assisting with the training and mentoring of junior members of the team.
Duties & responsibilities include:
? Examine and analyse tender documentation in order to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates
? Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
? Consult with clients, suppliers, personnel in internal departments and site personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
? Confer with relevant personnel on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
? Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organising and scheduling work
? Produce analytically priced Bill of Quantities
? Prepare Preliminaries
? Prepare estimates for use in selecting suppliers or subcontractors
? Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components
? Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the duration of the project
? Conduct relevant reviews to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction
? Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations
? Ensure effective handover of tender to construction team
? Maintain knowledge of current market trends, practices and products
? Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is held and communicated in accordance with the Data Protection Act
? Complete all administration tasks in a timely, accurate and legible manner

Qualifications & Experience:
? To be suitable for this role you will need to have either a degree level qualification in commercial management, or significant experience of estimating in the industry.
? Good knowledge and experience of using MS Office, Excel, Project and Word, and the sue of Conquest Estimating Software would be advantageous
? Experience of Estimating in Construction Management
? Experience of managing budgets and plans
? The ability to read and understand technical drawings and understand technical drawings and architect's plans and interpret their content and technical specification
