EMC Testing Engineer

North West England

My client is a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services to UK industries. This role exists to support the manufacturers of electronics, especially radio equipment, to ensure their products are compliant to the relevant legislation for Electromagnetic Compatibility. This means that a product has to exist safely without disrupting existing radio signals which could interfere with things like police radios, hospital equipment and aeroplanes!

The role will comprise of learning and carrying out a wide array of routine and non-routine tests using specialised measurement and calibrations equipment. You will be recording and interpreting data, and liaising with clients regarding enquiries and test results.

Desired experience and qualifications for the role include:
Degree or equivalent in engineering, electronics or related discipline
Experience of testing products within an academic or commercial laboratory
Knowledge of the UKAS/ISO17025 quality standard is advantageous
High degree of logical thinking, problem solving and analytical thinking
Effective communication skills both written and verbal

The successful candidate will join a highly in demand profession with excellent opportunities for progression. Shifts are divided as earlies/days/lates 6-2 / 8.30-5 / 2-10 and a generous shift allowance is given. The role is Monday to Friday 37.5 hours
