An opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Court of Protection Lawyer to join a Tier 1 and 2023 Leading firm as a Senior Associate or Partner to be based at one of their Hampshire or South Coast offices.

The firm consists of over 200 members of staff including lawyers and Partners all of whom act for an enviable client base. This is comprised of individuals up to international and national household brand names. The Firm operates out of 5 locations as well as having a London base which in turn generates work of top quality. They maintain a friendly and supportive working environment whilst always delivering an excellent client experience.

At present the Court of Protection team is led by a Partner within the Private Client department, the reason for this recruitment exercise is to find a natural leader to head the Court of Protection team on its own strategy in recognition of this particular practice area's growth. Work centres around Property and Affairs and typically changes to life type of cases such as brain or spinal injury or alternatively, Private Client team referrals, such as management of trusts and capacity issues. As you would expect with a senior role such as this, there will be a need to manage the team offering support and guidance where necessary whilst taking the lead with regard to business development.

Due to the nature of the work candidates will need to have significant CoP experience however this may have been gained whilst working in a general Private Client team. The likelihood is that you will have a minimum of 5 years PQE.
