Disputes focus but full service practice
My client has a top tier international dispute resolution practice which has been on the ground in London for decades. This is award winning global firm of specialists are looking to expand their highly successful disputes practice further. This role will sit within the wider commercial litigation department and is a mix of complex litigation and arbitration work.
They offer a vast breadth of knowledge and experience to the resolution of international disputes, including commercial/civil litigation, trade, energy, shipping and construction related arbitration, white collar crime, financial disputes and investigation. They have one of the world's leading marine and international trade practices, offering a breadth of services to clients active in the shipping, commodity, insurance and offshore sectors that few other firms can match. This growing commodities team is led by some of the most respected names in the field and acts for a diverse range of clients involved in the extraction, production, supply, carriage, storage, financing and industrial consumption of energy and natural resources. Their clients include mining groups, energy companies, trading houses, banks, utilities, industrial consumers and shipping companies. Disputes form the core of the practice, with a non-exclusive focus on physical commodities, trade/commodity finance and shipping-related matters. The caseload includes both litigation and arbitration, and is typically cross-jurisdictional in nature.
This firm are often instructed at an early stage and spend much of their time helping clients solve problems in real-time before they manifest into disputes. They also maintain a transactional and advisory element, assisting clients on a variety of off-take, supply, distribution, master trading, tolling and other agreements, as well as financing structures, charterparties and contracts of affreightment. In this role, you will focus primarily on litigation and arbitration matters. Litigation work will typically be before the Commercial Court in London but may involve co-ordinating proceedings in other jurisdictions.
They are looking for a junior or mid level qualified lawyer with litigation/arbitration experience, preferably to include commodities and/or shipping work.
