Road freight Business Development Manager


This Business Development role is a rare opportunity with a freight forwarding company of Global stature, who are implementing a National expansion project for their Sales team.

This is the perfect opportunity for hungry, ambitious sales professional to develop within their career at a multimillion pound company that pride themselves on cultural integrity for both staff and clients.

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within your region for the Road freight department.

The ideal candidate will have the following traits:

  • Have a strong background in Road freight sales (2 years minimum).
  • A true hunter mentality.
  • Confident identifying and closing new business opportunities within your region.
  • Proven successful track record in new business sales.
  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Have a Full Car Licence.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for face to face meetings.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop a growth strategy focused on maximising profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Own lead generation and appointment setting.
  • Lead sales presentations and facilitate client transitions. .
  • Build and maintain strong network connections across your region.
  • Keep up to date with industry-wide issues and those of our customers and how these translate into business needs.
  • Provide reporting on sales performance, market trends and competitor analysis.
  • Analyse market and customer data and conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs, to aid in future development of services.
