Building Surveyor

The Building Surveyor will report to the Operational & Commercial managers, the job holder will be responsible for working within the FM team establishing, managing & coordinating the lifecycle & variation works, liaising with on-site FM managers and clients to coordinate the base works plans with the actual requirements.
The successful candidate will be qualified to MRICS or equivalent status with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience. Typical duties in this role will include:
Undertaking building condition surveys.
Preparing reports/Schedules of Dilapidations and Schedules of Condition
Undertaking building defect diagnosis inspections
Prepare Planned Maintenance Programmes and assist with management of associated life cycle budgets and spend.
Preparing, manage and deliver the supply chain tender process including any necessary documents & schedules of work.
To undertake the role of Client or Principle designer in respect of CDM Regulations
Quality assurance checks of ongoing or completed works.
Provide technical assistance to manage property related contract variations
Preparation of budget costings for proposed projects.
Project cost management & administration
Preparing CAD drawings
Preparation of Planning and other Local Authority Consent Applications
Liaising with and reporting to Clients
Attending meetings with Clients
Reporting to senior staff members at regular intervals as required
Providing Principal Designer input to projects
Candidates should have a sound technical knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods, have excellent written communication skills, be IT literate on all Microsoft Office programmes, be competent in producing CAD drawings and have reasonable understanding of common property management processes.
