I am currently working with a leading brand name within the Engineering, Marine and Oil/Gas markets. The business is looking to add a Bid manager to the team to manage the BIDs/Tender process from end to end.

This has allowed them to be trusted providers across many challenging sectors including Marine, Subsea, Oil/Gas/Energy, Nuclear, Defence and some Government. They work with clients ranging from small niche businesses up to multi national blue chip corporate clients.

Working as part of the wider commercial team and reporting directly into the head of BIDs, the BID manager will look after all requirement capturing, preparation/writing, submission and negotiation prior to handing off to the delivery team to carry out the project.

On top of this you would be working with others in the business including technical, commercial, legal, delivery and other internal stakeholders who would be associated to the projects. There will be some travel associated with the role, this would be to visit customers, take on requirements and manage the BID process and maintain engagement.

You must have experience in a similar role and high level BID writing ability as well as being a confident negotiator with strong written, verbal and numeracy skills. Stand out candidates may possess an engineering or commercial degree, hands on engineering/manufacturing experience, project management knowledge or time spent within estimating.

You will generally use Microsoft based packages such as word and excel so some experience using these would be beneficial, as would working knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce or Dynamics.
