Automotive Production Technician

Immediate start available to join an established team within the automotive sector. You will be trained to test for quality standards in manufactured products and to set up the computerised lines to run smoothly, ensuring a quality product.

You will be working at the newest paint shop in the UK for Nissan who are the largest producer of cars in the UK. The role is very technical and although training will be provided, the position would suit someone who is used to working with technology and someone who is inquisitive to how things operate and work.

Your role will involve:

• Being part of a team of 3 people across a shift pattern; measurement and collection of key performance data, colour and appearance quality checks, physical parameters and process checks on the customer site.
• Responsible for measurement, interpretation, analysis and reporting of process KPIs and material line performance. This role is critical for ensuring that products run with highest quality performance to meet and exceed customer requirements.

• Be flexible in working pattern, shift patterns, overtime and absence cover as required to ensure operations are fully covered.
• Proactively audit vehicles, processes, and record and report colour, appearance and defect measurement and trend data to ensure products perform and continually improve to exceed customer requirements.
• Gather and interpret, lab results, usages etc. for presentation to customer as required.
• Attend daily/weekly and monthly customer meetings presenting process performance and material data as required, and conduct internal process management meetings.
• Ensure that customer EH&S requirements are met at all times and that ethical and legal policies are adhered to.
• Provide daily interface with customer personnel from all levels and departments and to provide concern resolution for all products, showing the required high levels of flexibility to drive and manage required actions.
• Compile and issue internal and external reports.
• Carry out any reasonable request as directed by the leadership teams during the course of your duties.
• The right person will be dependable, conscientious and able to make decisions and act unsupervised to ensure process continuity.

To do this job, you must be highly motivated, self-confident and able to work under pressure in a world class manufacturing environment. You will need to be a team player but also able to work unsupervised to meet and exceed customer requirements as a key front line representative on the customer site.
