Job title: Assistant Management Accountant

The role:
My client is looking for a part qualified accountant to provide assistance in the financial control of the business. Key parts of the role are the completion of monthly management accounts and support of year end statutory accounts and audit. This role will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will be involved in the day-to-day financial activities of the business.
The successful candidate will work with the wider Finance team to support the Financial Controller, Commercial Business Partner, Finance Assistants and Budget, Inventory and Systems lead to maintain a structure and governance that allows confidence in the numbers and compliance with IFRS.

Key Responsibilities
- Completion of the month end process, delivering financial statements in a timely and accurate manner
- Team-worker - a role that will work closely with key roles within the Finance dept
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure compliance with IFRS and other applicable policies
- Work closely with the Budget, Inventory & Systems Lead to create insight for input into these processes, and also gain understanding of the accounting system and the group structure
- Support the Commercial Business Partner to provide insight on performance vs expectation, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Direct management of Finance Assistants to support in completion of objectives
- Project support, where required
- Assisting with year end audit and statutory accounts
- Drive a continuous improvement mind-set - always seeking opportunities for process efficiency
Experience
- Part qualified accountant
- Proficient in Excel
- Proficient in using different IT software
Salary of up to £40,000.00 per year plus a lucrative benefits package
