The role is for a permanent Assistant Estimator to be part of a well-established specialist repair subcontractor that operates across the whole of the United Kingdom. They provide a wide range of reinforcement and repair solutions to both social housing and local authority sectors, whilst also having their own in-house manufacturing, research & development and reinforcement systems that diagnose the causes of damage and then design bespoke and comprehensive solutions. They are committed to the training of basic construction skills, insight into the construction industry, and the continuous personal development of their workforce by running construction seminars on the latest techniques and solutions, as well as ongoing researching projects working alongside Universities and Design Centres. The success of their projects has also led to them receiving various industry recognised awards.
They are now looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Estimating team, who will be responsible for providing essential support services to the Estimating Department and will want to progress and grow with a company who offer a great platform to progress to a senior position.
The successful candidate will possess:
Be well organised with excellent attention to detail with pride in their work.
Be an enthusiastic and proactive team player.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Be highly numerate with excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel.
Be well presented, self disciplined and have excellent time keeping.
Have previous experience in the construction industry.
Have a driving licence valid in the UK.
Duties & responsibilities include:
Prioritisation and tracking of quotations and estimates.
Preparation of tenders, quotations and estimates.
Procurement of subcontractors, equipment and materials.
Composition of contract programmes.
Cost analysis and reporting.
