Accounts Assistant // South Manchester // Permanent // £25,000

We are working with a well established manufacturing firm to hire an Accounts and Payroll assistant to join their small and friendly finance team. The role will report into the Accounts Manager. This position is a key role within the business and it is important to point out that there will be an involvement in other administrative tasks also, adding to the variety of the role.

There is the opportunity to agree the pattern of working hours to suit the individual, so this role will suit somebody who cannot necessarily work from 8.30 - 5 due to other commitments.

The duties will include

Purchase Ledger - invoice processing, reconciliations, supplier liaison, payments to suppliers
Sales Ledger - raise invoices, allocate payments
Bank Reconciliations
Credit control - proactively chase outstanding payments
Collation and input of staff hours
Monthly Payroll processing- end to end (@40 staff)
Petty cash
Liaising with other colleagues in various roles across the business and assisting with ad hoc tasks.

The role requires:

Previous experience within a small, busy finance team and exposure to the majority of the above tasks - training can be given in some areas if required.
Good knowledge of working on financial systems and an eye for accuracy
Good communication and rapport building
A well organised approach
A flexible approach
