Chester Based Role

My client is a market-leading construction data business providing thousands of companies with sales leads, contact data, CRM software and market intelligence for the UK construction sector. Its reputation is built and maintained by its dedicated in-house team of market researchers who create and maintain excellent working relationships with relevant information providers across the supply chain, including government departments.

The role is based in Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port. As Key Account Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for growing the business's portfolio of manufacturer and material supplier Key Accounts. This will be achieved through consistent account support and development including strategic discussion and identification of expansion into other portfolio products where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

* Understand customer strategy and objectives relevant to the Barbour ABI portfolio
* Achieve monthly revenue targets on account renewals
* Maintain a strong pipeline of portfolio opportunities to achieve growth targets
* Ensure customer requests and queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively
* Achieve set activity KPI's within agreed timescales
* Effectively manage internal diary of customer calls.
* Make appointments for regional account managers to ensure effective renewal process
* Organise training for customers as and when required
* Provide feedback from customers to the business
* Accurately log all calls made on CARS (internal customer management system)
* Understand and communicate product updates to customers where relevant
* Participate in any training and take personal responsibility for own development
* Assist colleagues when necessary
* Represent the company in a professional manner at all times

Knowledge and Experience:

Customer account management / revenue generation
Consultative sales skills and experience
Good negotiation and closing skills
Ability to build and nurture strong relationships internally and externally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good IT skills Microsoft Office package
Planning/time management/self-organization and self discipline/highly motivated
Confident on the phone and willing to make proactive telephone calls / sit face to face meetings
