The research reveals that the future looks bright in 2021, as 97% of those surveyed are confident their industry will recover in 2021. A further 61% of businesses are currently recruiting for new roles showing the landscape is more positive than this time last year with 53% of business anticipating an increase in headcount before the end of this year. 

Of those surveyed, 49% are expecting salaries to increase in 2021 with a further 38% anticipating they’ll remain stable over the next 12 months, whilst only 2% are at risk of implementing reductions.

 The industries most likely to implement pay increases in 2021 include:

  • Scientific – 94%

  • Engineering & Manufacturing – 91%

  • Construction – 80%

  • Financial Services – 80%

  • Sales – 75%

  • HR – 54%

  • Health & Social Care, Social Work, Legal, Marketing – 50%

  • Call & contact centre – 30%

  • Industrial, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, Transportation – 29%

  • Accountancy & Finance – 24%

  • Business Support – 12%

  • Hospitality – 11%
