Search Construction and Property has led a nationwide drive to support families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic over the festive season.

Spanning our UK footprint from Aberdeen to Brighton, our construction teams enlisted the support of our construction clients to adopt their building sites into food collection points, and in the last fortnight has collected four tonnes of donations.

Our teams incredible efforts are helping local people whose lives have been affected over the last 12 months. Our construction clients such as Eric Wright Construction, Vinci Construction, Bloor Homes and Claremont Group, alongside Balfour Beatty, John Sisk, Laing O’Rourke, Bridgestone, and Graham Construction have all lent a hand to support a concerted effort to provide food banks with provisions in the run up to Christmas.

Supporting both the national Trussell Trust, as well as locally based support centres, more than 25 construction sites have been working with their teams to collect food and gifts in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

In total, Search Construction and Property collected 4 tonnes (over 3,200 individual items) and over £2,000 in aid of The Trussell Trust food banks, with regional contractors Vinci Construction and Eric Wright Group both raising cash donations in addition to food, donating £1400 and £500 respectively.

Paul Kynaston, Manging Director of Search Construction and Property, said:

“We’ve been delighted with how readily our partner companies have been to support the initiative. What started in Manchester with our city centre office and regional clients has, in a matter of days, spanned across our entire UK construction and property team, with more than 25 clients supporting us.

“The generosity of the businesses and their workers has been phenomenal and we were really taken aback by them. Each went above and beyond what we were expecting. It really is a great example of businesses doing their bit and rallying around those in unfortunate positions.”
