On Saturday the 17th of November, Search Consultancy pledged £1,000 in aid of the Maggie’s Cancer Centre in Glasgow.
There are currently two million people living with or after cancer throughout the UK, with one in two people estimated to be affected in their lifetime. Many will face tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions that also affect their friends and families.
For this reason, Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. The charity was originally launched in Edinburgh in 1996 and has since continued to grow, with 20 Centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK and abroad.
Following the glitzy and glamourous Strictly Come Dancing Theme, the ‘Dance for Maggie’s’ fundraiser, now in its sixth year, generated a record £103,000 with the final figure set to rise even further. Search Consultancy contributed to the Founding 1,000 Business campaign through a pledge of £1,000 in support of the Maggie’s Cancer Centre in Glasgow.
