Search Consultancy’s Construction division has embraced the influx of investment into Brighton’s infrastructure, which they predict will make the city and surrounding regions a hot spot for construction recruiters in 2018 and into the future.

In line with this forecast the division has steadily grown their numbers in Brighton with further expansion planned for early 2018.

Contrary to the historical myth which paints ‘London by the Sea’ as a haven for wealthy theatricals and retired businesspeople rather than workers, Brighton has become home to some major development projects across the city which continue to increase the demand for construction professionals in recent years.

According to the Brighton Economic Board, a total of £90m has been allocated by the government– through both the Greater Brighton City Deal and the Coast to Capital Growth Deal – for projects within the Investment Programme. These projects will deliver a total investment of approximately £376m into the City Region, unlocking an estimated 14,000 jobs, 8,200 homes and 450,000sqm of employment floor space.

Given the undertaking of multiple regeneration and infrastructure projects which aim to support the creation of a network of high-value growth centres in key locations across the City Region, Search Construction has hailed Brighton and surrounding regions as ‘the place to be’ for industry specialists looking to develop their careers within the construction recruitment market.

The specialism’s campaign reflects the wider business growth of Search Consultancy, which announced plans to take on more than 150 consultants across 13 locations following a successful management buyout last year. The firm also recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Rob Buckingham, Divisional Manager of Search Construction in Brighton said: “Last year has been a significant milestone for Search Consultancy, and my team has mirrored the growth of the wider business by adding to our numbers in Brighton.”

“The recent wave of investment towards infrastructure has made Brighton and the surrounding area an exciting and profitable location for recruiters with extensive knowledge of and prior experience working within the construction market.”

“Furthermore, there has never been a more exciting time to work for Search. From an award winning training and development programme, exciting career opportunities and an extensive and enviable client base, Search truly invests in the continued success of its employees. Our Platinum accreditation by Investors in People is evidence of this, as well as our recent recognition by Recruitment International as the Best Recruitment Company to Work For.”

“As we kick-start the new year, I welcome anyone who is looking to further their career in construction recruitment to contact me,” he concluded.
