Technology is transforming the way we do business, and many organisations are beginning to reflect this by prioritising the need to innovate their processes and service delivery. In part 1 of this series, we take a look at how SMEs are embracing the need for tech-savvy accountants within their organisations, and what finance experts predict will be the industry’s biggest challenges throughout the transition process!
UK SMEs are twice as happy with tech-savvy accountants
A recent study by Exact, which surveyed 2,500 professionals across Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and the US, revealed that the number one thing that SMEs are demanding from their accountants is speed.
Encouragingly, the survey also found that there has been a drop in spreadsheet accounting (down from 25% to 20% in 2016), and the number of UK SMEs that are entering their data online, although still in the minority, are slowly on the rise (up from 10% to 16% in 2016).
Read on for part 2 of this series, where I highlight what accountants should ask themselves in order to determine the value of their current systems!
