Stirling Council

Stirling, Scotland’s Heart

Stirling lies in the heart of central Scotland. And, at Stirling Council we’re at the heart of life here.

Every day we provide a wide range of services essential to enhancing the quality of life of people living in or visiting the area. We aim to ensure that the old and young are cared for; to provide support for those in need; to educate our young people and enhance cultural and sporting opportunities for all. We’re committed to delivering quality services at the heart of our communities.

From the city, with its stunning skyline dominated by the historic castle, to some of Scotland’s finest countryside beyond, the area has something for everyone.

The city may be steeped in history, but it also has a modern vibe, with great places to eat, drink and unwind. All in all it’s a great mix – rather like the people who work for us.

Because we provide a wide spectrum of services and support, our team includes people with diverse skills and experience. From accountants to social workers and gardeners to designers, whatever skills you possess a career with us may be the chance you’ve been looking for.

We look forward to meeting you.

Unbeatable opportunities

The area we cover totals over 800 square miles (reaching from the shores of Loch Lomond in the west, to the village of Tyndrum on the edge of Rannoch Moor in the north, and the former mining villages of Fallin and Plean in the east).

Over 85,000 people live here and we’re committed to delivering the highest levels of service to them. Working with our communities and partner agencies we aim to make our region a better place to live, work and visit by continually improving all aspects of our performance.

We listen to local people and, wherever possible, take on board their views and opinions.

We also listen to the people who work for us and do what we can to help them realise their potential – after all they help us realise ours.

Our aim is to create a culture that supports the achievement of the Council’s strategic vision and where the Council’s values are widely shared by everyone across the organisation. To achieve this we are committed to:

•Developing everyone connected with the Council to ensure that we have the right behaviours, knowledge, skills, commitment and motivation
•Encouraging a culture of learning, sharing of information and strong customer focus
•Promoting equality, diversity, the Council’s values and codes of conduct through effective learning and communication activities

Stirling Council is a member of The Institute of Customer Service (ICS), the professional body in the UK for customer service.

If you’re looking for a place to realise your potential, look no further...
