Q & A with Mark:

How important is it to be passionate and driven?

Passion and drive are extremely important to me. I believe that passion is a result of self-belief and when channelled into the visions for our business it can be demonstrated in the results we deliver. Furthermore, if passion and self-belief are fundamental components of success, then I would suggest that they are the key to maintaining drive in achieving our goals.

If you had a super power, which one would you choose?

The ability to grant the supernatural wishes of others!

Either personally or professionally, what are 3 things you would like to tick off your bucket list and why?

  1. Having children – Investing in the future and believing they can make a difference
  2. Whale watching in Alaska – Something my Mum would love to do but is unlikely to do for herself. Maybe with her or for her one day.
  3. Travel around Canada – Having already travelled there, I found it to be a balanced country with an abundance of nature, lots of open spaces and not heavily populated relative to the size of the country.

Q & A With Emma:

How important do you think it is to be knowledgeable and consultative?

Market knowledge, and the ability to effectively articulate and communicate what we know to others, is imperative in our industry! Personally speaking, it allows me to understand the needs of my clients/candidates, offer them valuable business advice and develop long-lasting and profitable relationships. By delivering this core value, we develop a trust and confidence that turns our client/candidate relationships into a true partnership.

If you had a super power, which one would you choose?

I would love to be able to travel through time! I’m a bit of a history geek so would eagerly go back in time to see the pyramids in ancient Egypt and experience the Tudor era. It would also be great to have a sneaky peak into the future to see how events played out!

Either personally or professionally, what are 3 things you would like to tick off your bucket list and why?

  1. A great white shark cage dive! I’m petrified of sharks so doing this means that I would be conquering a fear at the same time!
  2. I would love to do an ‘around the world’ trip with my husband and son!
  3. My current professional goal is to be promoted to Senior Divisional Manager by the end of 2017!

I firmly believe that as an HR administrator, it is vitally important to be supportive and respectful to those I interact with. This is simply because it helps me build relationships within the business. Without these qualities, it is near impossible to build genuine and productive relationships, which is vital within HR!

If you had a super power, which one would you choose?

Being invisible – think of the fun you could have!

Either personally or professionally, what are 3 things you would like to tick off your bucket list and why?

Benjamin Applewhaite - Open and Honest

Benjamin Applewhaite is a Senior Divisional Manager for Search IT Digital and Change. He currently manages a top billing division, and is highly attuned to the needs and concerns of his market, which enables him to implement effective and successful recruitment strategies. He believes that honesty and integrity is the cornerstone of every profitable business relationship.

How important is it to be open and honest?

Openness and honesty are the most important qualities to me – both in my personal and professional life! I would not run my business any other way. Even if it means delivering a disagreeable message, the ability to be forthcoming not only increases my credibility, but it minimises any misstep in securing a partnership - that would otherwise be taken if I were dishonest in delivering my advice. In my industry, it is absolutely essential, because clients are more likely to trust my business advice, while candidates will turn to me when choosing their next career move.

If you had a super power, which one would you choose?

Time travel has always fascinated me.

Either personally or professionally, what are 3 things you would like to tick off your bucket list and why?

  1. Get my private pilots license
  2. See Andrea Bocelli live in concert
  3. I’m something of a car fanatic, so I would very much like to go to the Monaco Grand Prix

Congratulations to each of our champions! You truly deserve to have your names in lights!
