Journey to the centre of Search!
Search Leicester is proud and delighted to announce the successful appointment of Kishan Lakhani! Kish joined us on a Jobcentre Plus work program, which forms part of the Government initiative to ‘Get Britain Working'.
We initially started working with the Jobcentre Plus in an attempt to find new solutions to local unemployment, with particular focus on providing extra help to young people in their search for a job. We were excited about supporting our local community and helping to make a real difference to the employability of Leicester’s youth generation.
Kish came to us on an 8-week work placement, and we knew very early on that he had great potential. Through our training and development program, we have been able to provide him with an insight into recruitment consultancy, the commercial world and our values.
Kish is already making a difference within Search and wanted to share his story so far:
"I started working at Search Leicester on a voluntary work placement as part of the ‘Get Britain Working’ scheme through the Jobcentre Plus. I was initially supposed to be placed for 8 weeks, and hoped that Search would place me in a role at the end of this period. However, I was delighted when, after only 3 weeks at the company, I was offered a permanent role as a trainee consultant within Search!
"I am now the Leicester office’s newest consultant and a permanent member of the Driving & Industrial division. I am coming to the end of my 5th week here as a trainee and in such a short space of time I have learnt so much from the team. I believe my search for the ideal role is now over!
"Search is a fantastic company to work for, with massive opportunities. Everyone here strives to achieve Search’s values of being open and honest, supportive and respectful, knowledgeable and consultative, as well as passionate and driven.
"There is a great atmosphere in the office and being greeted by friendly faces every time I walk in is amazing! I can see why we achieved the ‘Investors in People’ Gold status!"
It’s great to see that Kish is fitting in well at Search and enjoying his new role. Looking ahead, Search Leicester will continue to actively support the Jobcentre Plus work program, whilst also working with other community groups in an attempt to further boost local and youth employment.
