Search Consultancy Announces Expansion of Medical Division
Search Consultancy has kicked off 2017 with the opening of two brand new medical recruitment teams in Glasgow and Liverpool.
Founded in Manchester in 2003, Search Medical quickly established a strong presence in the Northwest market. “Having primarily sourced candidates and developed relationships within private healthcare, we are equally proud to become a recruitment partner of the NHS. Our primary objective has always been - and will continue to be - to provide quality candidates to all our clients,” advises Lisa McLean, Director and Head of Search Medical for the UK.
The new Glasgow-based team will offer services to hiring companies and job seekers in the medical and social care industries. The team will initially consist of two recruitment experts – Helen McCabe, Associate Director, who will be supported by Divisional Manager Hazel Dunn. Both have a strong background in recruitment and the medical industry and will focus on building a client base of nursing homes, residential homes, supported living and local healthcare services within Scotland.
Helen explains: “Whilst in the process of registering with the Care Inspectorate, our recruitment team will only source nurses to clients on a permanent basis. However, as we expand our horizons, our consultants will also fill contract roles. As is the nature of Search’s specialist divisions, the Medical arm will work tirelessly to ensure that they attract the best talent to meet our clients’ requirements.”
The decision to expand to Liverpool comes in response to a fast-growing client and candidate base in the city. “Because we have historically benefited from a strong presence in Merseyside, we came to realise that simply having one office in Manchester to cover the North West would be insufficient for us to fulfil our potential in the county,” notes Chris Pritchard, Associate Director for Medical recruitment in England.
The medical recruitment teams in Liverpool will focus on recruiting qualified nurses and general healthcare assistants and support workers. “We are fortunate to have two passionate and experienced recruitment managers, Leanne Clowes and Louise Embrey, who boast a strong track record of providing healthcare staff. Both teams will offer a targeted recruitment service that will mutually benefit our Merseyside candidates and clients,” says Chris.
Chris notes that the move is not just about retaining existing candidates and clients, but also about generating new business: “We currently supply hundreds of staff to our clients in Liverpool and our plan is to significantly increase that in 2017.”
Search’s recently appointed medical director for the UK, Lisa McLean, will support both divisions and play a leading role in identifying new business opportunities. She has over 13 years of senior management experience in health and social care. Having previously worked with a number of major care providers, she has extensive experience in overseeing mergers, start-ups and business transformations whilst dealing with a wide range of clients and stakeholders to implement specialist recruitment strategies. “I’m looking forward to identifying new and exciting business opportunities and working with the Search team to match clients to candidates at this exceptionally exciting time for medical recruitment,” she says.
Search’s existing clients with a national presence have already expressed interest at the launch of new medical recruitment teams in Glasgow and Livepool. Search is confident that this expansion will be instrumental in retaining existing clients whilst generating new, long-term and profitable business opportunities across the UK.
