Record results for recruiter Search Consultancy
Recruitment specialist Search Consultancy Group Limited has reported its best financial results to-date, with an underlying EBITDA figure of £6.5m (up 30 per cent) for the 52 weeks to 4th January 2015.
The company also reported pre-tax profit at £2.3m – up £2.9m on the previous 12 months – as well as an 18 per cent rise in Net Fee Income (growing from £32.5m to £38.5m).
The permanent recruitment market was particularly strong, with the value of placements growing from £12.8m to £16.2m (year-on-year growth of 27 per cent), with Search securing a total of 8,214 permanent placements.
And company chief executive Grahame Caswell believes permanent recruitment in particular will continue to thrive now that recent political uncertainty, sparked by the independence referendum and general election, are a thing of the past.
He said: “The strategic development the group has undergone in recent years, underpinned by the positive macroeconomic environment, enabled Search to deliver its best financial results to date, including year-on-year growth in Net Fee Income that places Search in the highest echelons of the UK recruitment market.
“Search’s exceptional staff are the driving force behind its success and in recent years we have achieved a number of accolades which are testament to this.
“I believe Search is uniquely placed with in the UK staffing sector, with the potential to continue to deliver market-leading growth during 2015 and beyond.
“Market conditions for the perm businesses are favourable. With uncertainty relating to the 2015 UK general election and the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum now a thing of the past, clients and candidates are, respectively, able to recruit and take on new employment opportunities with confidence.
Search employs 642 staff serving geographical markets in Scotland and England, from its 13 bases. It offers specialist recruitment services across six vertical markets – Professional Services, Medical and Care, IT, Technical and Engineering, Construction, and General and Commercial Staffing.
This model enables Search to operate a portfolio of highly-successful niche businesses all under the umbrella of the Search brand.
